Blow uses these words to share his concern with Bernie Sanders not getting as much publicity to Black Americans. Rhetorical Devices Using an appeal to logos, an appeal to ethos and a concerning tone, Charles M. Blow sends his message for Bernie Sanders and Black America. Blow's appeal to logos is established when Blow explains why Bernie Sanders isn't as known as Clinton or Trump. This appeals to logos because the explanation is cause and effect. Blow appeals to ethos because he cites his sources for information such as Sanders' press release, quoting Obama and citing it, and citing the Wall Street Journal and the Washington Post. The tone throughout is concerning and is created by the word choice of "blistering" and "unyielding" and helps establish the concern with Bernie Sanders and his lack of publicity throughout the Black community. |
